To our students working to finish their high school credit course, take that next HiSET test, or make strides towards diploma completion, there are 3 weeks of class time left before the winter holidays! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help you end the year with success!

Biology with Lab
For any and all students who are prepping for Nursing or Medical Laboratory Technology admissions review, this is an excellent opportunity to meet the admissions “Biology with lab” prerequisite. If you have been away from science courses for a while, this course is recommended to prep you for rigorous college science classes. Students who successfully complete this class will earn 1 high school credit. This course is provided at no cost to students through the Maine College and Career Access Services grant and RSU13 Adult & Community Education. This is a fully remote course.
–Mid-December Class Orientation (date TBD) via Zoom (2 hours)
–Winter Session Course Dates: Dec. 28, 2020 through Jan. 25, 2021
–Course includes three weekly 1.5 hr. Zoom classes for the duration of the 4 weeks, plus assignments outside of class time.

Prepare for all aspects of attending college during this 13 week distance learning course. Topics include financial aid, study skills, career exploration, time management, navigating college, technology skills, and more. This course has weekly Zoom classes and uses Brightspace, an online learning platform, for all assignments, discussions and quizzes. Students completing this course are well prepared for the college experience and earn 3 college credits through University of Maine at Augusta.

HiSET Writing Course being offered.
In this 6-week Zoom course, you’ll learn how to write an essay for the HiSET Writing Test. This class will focus on organizing your ideas and providing supporting details in an argumentative essay. Grammar, punctuation, and writing mechanics will also be covered. There will be opportunities for revising and editing with other students. Learn how to write your best essay!
English Language Learning
English Language Learning (ELL) Conversation Class helps adult students work towards improving their skills in English language basics through practicing speaking, listening, reading and writing.
RSU13 Adult & Community Education offers ELL at a basic level, a conversation level, and all a citizenship preparation level.
